My name is Maya Kuzman and I come from Skopje, Macedonia.
I am an English teacher and translator by vocation, a crochet jewelry designer by desire and choice, a boho enthusiast by persuasion.
I was raised in a family were no handwork was strange - the women in my family were all dedicated to creating things for the family, whether out of pure necessity or just for the mere pleasure of decoration: knitted sweaters, hats and shawls, crocheted tablecloths, doilies and runners, and sewn clothes. So I was always surrounded with amazing colorful fabrics, soft wooly skeins, lots of threads and buttons.
I have nurtured and kept that love for handwork for years until finally in 2008 I started my blog The Little Treasures with the idea to journal my creative pursuits, showcase my designs, share and treasure our travels and adventures. I wanted my blog to be the treasure chest cradling capsuled traditions and memories of my creative world.
The interest in my crochet jewelry which I presented on the blog gradually rose throughout the years and initiated the birth of our small, family oriented business. I sell jewellery and accessories on my website The Little Treasures and also use other sites, like Etsy and Ravelry, through which we offer our digital crochet patterns.
I am mostly known for my crochet flower infused jewelry and accessories and having a penchant for vintage and the Victorian period, many of my pieces resemble the times past. When the bohemian in me emerges and prevails, you’ll find me making intricate mixed media jewelry with an Oriental feel.
I do love getting in touch with people around the world and I hope you drop me a visit in any of my social media.
