My name is Elena Kotliarker, I am a painter.
I was born and raised in Kiev, Ukraine. In 1996, we moved to Israel, where we are living today.
I create my artworks with acrylic paints on canvas surfaces.
From time to time I experiment with digital art.
I dreamed of being a painter from my early childhood. I was very lucky that my parents have always supported my ambitions. So, from a very young age, I began to learn the art of painting.
I was trained and taught at the Spiritual Art Academy of Kiev in 1993.
I am very grateful to my first teacher and friend Olga Bebco for all her patience and love.
The source of all my inspiration for my artworks is Israel.
The nature of this small and diverse country, with a history of a few thousand years, a long Jewish heritage, the great wisdom of the people - all these factors serve as an inexhaustible and endless source of inspiration.
One of the most important lessons I’ve learned in art career is do not be afraid to experiment.
There is no guarantee that every piece of art is a success, but failure has its hidden secrets for future success. Artist have try working in a few directions, concurrently. You never know where you will meet significant success.
The art books, traveling and natural flowers (at home) are the most important components of my creations process.
Through time, I have developed a number of art theme series, concurrently: like "Mare Nostrum", "My little fairy",
"Angel wings", "Splash of Life" and more.
But from the beginning the most successful theme has been the Jewish art, where I embed the Hebrew blessings and different sacred Mediterranean symbols. What I mean by "most successful" is that this theme has achieved the best sales at the international art auctions and from my personal site.
As a peculiar exception I provide the fact that one of the most significant successes in my art career.
On two occasions my artworks have been chosen for exhibition in the Janco Dada museum. First time it was a digitally mastered image and the second time it was an art performance project, based on Tarot cards.
But as my biggest artistic accomplishment so far, I was proud to participate at the Grand Palais exhibition this past February. I feel lucky that the Covid epidemic did not spoil this event for me :-)
Moreover, after this event, the Grand Palais has been closed for repairs for a long period.
I dream of participating in a number of major exhibitions, especially in France, then in the United Kingdom and after that in the USA.
