I graduated with a BA (Hons) Degree in Screen Printed Textiles at West Surrey College of Art and Design, Farnham in 1994.
After graduating my work predominantly was created in monochrome using pen, ink and bleach. Exhibiting at the Royal West of England Academy Annual Open in 1999.
After a break from my painting to bring up my family, my job at Bristol Fine Art enticed my creativity back when a new range of acrylic paints came into stock.
Since then I have explored a whole new direction with my work, bringing vibrancy, colour and texture into my canvas and paper works.
My paintings are inspired by the elements of the natural world such as stylised flowers, feathers and fauna. They are a process, very similar to screen print, with a build up of layers. Starting with acrylic paint, then painted dots, flat and raised, finally being decorated with rhinestone gems and mirrors......they just keep growing!!
I had my first solo exhibition in September 2012 at Prema Art Centre, Glos. Which was all down to my work being viewed on Facebook via Bristol Fine Art.
In 2013 the rights to four pieces of my work were bought by a company, Victoria's Journals (http://victoriasjournals.com/), to be published in the next twelve months on their covers of their art journals.
A little sparkle goes a long way!!!
