Mary Wade - eclectic critters
Hi, my name is Mary Wade and I am based in the Byron Hinterland, Australia.
My true passion has always revolved around Textile Design, in which I have studied Print, Knit and Weave over the years. For a large portion of my professional life, I worked within the Costume Department in Film and Television.
Having made the ‘Tree Change’ and opting out of city life for the idyllic country life and combine this with having my own children, it seemed a natural progression to start my own small business from home, incorporating all my favourite things.
The name ‘Eclectic Critters’ came about due to my love of all things Vintage. Many of the fabrics I handpick, reflect 1950’s atomic art and classic 1950’s cotton floral prints. Each piece of cloth inspires and evokes each and every Doll or Critter I design and make.
There is also a selection of hand printed t-shirts I have created for children and adults, based on original lino-prints
I truly love creating my critters and hope you too enjoy the journey.
